AFP reports that French police raided ultra left anarchist cells and subsequently arrested at least 10 suspects in 3 cities following attacks causing disruption and damage to sections of high speed rail systems across France to Britain. View story here.
Other points of interest: The attacks were characterized as “technically competent” by police, and the ultra left movement under suspicion has links in 5 European countries and other non-European countries. Police are investigating whether the suspects have connections to the German hard-left which has “claimed responsibility for actions against trains carrying nuclear waste.”
